Starting Kindergarten can be very stressful for both mom and child. Let me take some of that stress away. Here are some of the local school districts and great information on how to start your little one into Kindergarten.
Countdown to Kindergarten When: March 7, 2020 10AM-11:30AM Where: Capital High School (Olympia, Washington)2707 Conger Ave NW, Olympia, Washington 98502 Countdown to Kindergarten is an informational event for parents and guardians who will have children in kindergarten in the 2020-21 school year. The event begins in the Capital High School Theater with a welcome and presentation by Superintendent Patrick Murphy. An information fair follows in the Commons where you can meet and greet your resident school staff and learn about:
•Registering for kindergarten •Using Skyward Family Access (Student Info. Systems) •Riding the bus •Alternative kindergarten program options •Before and after school child care •Community partner services
Please note: This event is geared toward adults, although children are welcome. Child care is not provided.

Countdown to Kindergarten If you’re the parent or guardian of a child who will enter Kindergarten in September of 2020, please join us for a morning of fun and information! When: Saturday, March 14th Where: Tumwater High School Performing Arts Center Time: 10 – 11:30 AM We’ll start the morning as a group in the Performing Arts Center, sharing information about Kindergarten; how to register, bus transportation, what a Kindergarten's day looks like, volunteering at school, and much, much more. After that, you’ll be able to visit with staff from the school your child will attend. You’ll also be able to pick up a registration packet to take home to fill out. We’ll also have representatives on hand from transportation, health services, food services, and student support services to answer any questions you might have or to point you to the folks who have the information you need. We’ll also have representatives from a variety of community resources including Timberland Library, Boys & Girls Club, TOGETHER!, Headstart, South Sound Reading Foundation, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, and several more.
